Subject: 235 Magnum Common Rail pressure

Sunburst, MT
Have a 235 magnum CVT giving me Engine Fault. code 3104, which is Common Rail relief valve open.
Just before it does this it will let out a big puff of Black exhaust.
It will do this on a pull or at idle, doesn't matter. It did it today while calibrating transmission at 900 rpm.
Some days it does it 10 times a day, sometimes it does it only once a day, But I have never seen it happen while the outside temperature was below 40F.
Pressure sensor Under valve cover has already been replaced, but no fix.
Thinking it may be faulty relief valve or solenoid on metering unit. Any Ideas? Thanks in advance
