central Ia | Well I started as a JD ag mechanic in 74 in Garner Ia, then worked from 75 to 80 as a JD construction mechanic in Ft Dodge, then in 81 went farming and raising hogs for 14 years, then went to work for Pocahontas County as a mechanic for 20 years, but I can weld but not as good as I like or as good as the guy I worked with, I was doing pretty good in the mechanic side but then they came out with all this electronic stuff and I am just too old to learn it all anymore. I use to like to build things when I was on the farm, built gates, 3 pt hog carrier, even built a bean rider bar that fit on the front of my IH 674 , had two seats, used cables to run the clutch and gear shift, had a steering wheel, worked good, did give a bit of a thrill turning on the ends sitting out front. When I put things in a cab I want it to look either factory or better, don't like cables just running all over the cab, with take a cab apart to hide them behind panels | |
