I did this on our Link Belt machine. It's a 3400Q model, roughly 60K pound machine. We had the lines on our boom and stick but no valve/controls for it. I found a place on the internet that I bought a double diverter valve from. I mounted the diverter valve on the back of the boom near the pivot. I chose to split my stick cylinder lines for my thumb. That still allows me to use the bucket and thumb at the same time. The company I bought my diverter valve from was 6K Products in Washington. If you google them it comes right up. I used a DP0031 valve which is a 60GPM double diverter that is actually pilot controlled. I then purchased a electric actuated splitter valve from them to split my pilot function and then bought a foot pedal off of Amazon for about $30 like an industrial press brake would use to activate it. I put a 2500 PSI crossover relief valve by the thumb on the stick so that if I over power the thumb with the bucket it will relieve pressure and not bend/break my thumb cylinder. It works pretty slick and since I already had the main lines on the boom and stick my overall cost was less than $3,000. Most of that was in the diverter valve (about $950 at the time, 2 years ago) and some hoses to connect to the diverter valve.
Hope that helps.
Chris
