No reason not to replace just one, I do it frequently. I always by full sets,3, for my Ferris as it's much cheaper that way. I also maintain two full sets so I always have a sharp set ready to go. There's 4.5 acres to mow around our buildings and lawns and my wife will wear out two sets of blades a year .
