Free opinion, maybe only worth what you paid...

I bought a "renewed" string trimmer from Princess Auto (a Canadian parallel to Harbour Freight) for $80 Cdn pesos.

It worked ok, but it never idled from new. I don't seem to have good luck running small engines completely dry for winter, so I just top the tank up with fresh premium fuel in the spring, and put up with a little rough running until it all works out.

Having heard about Sea Foam for a long time (usually, as someone mentioned, as a cure for everything from sticky valves to arthritis), I gave it a shot. Just poured a splash into the half-tank and hung it on the wall for winter.

Next spring, for the first time ever, it started up and idled like a champ. After that, a shot every winter, and it ran great every spring.

Got it the year my son was born; he just turned 13. I finished with it and passed it on to my bro-in-law. Replaced fuel hoses a few times when they got soft, but other than that, its been great.

So; shorter answer - I am sold. I think it works.
