West Central Iowa | We have fixed quite a few of the 8000 series tractors with those symptoms, and never had to replace the brake valve to do it. The dust boot gets cracked and allows dirt and moisture to get into the plunger/piston area at the top of the valve and causes the operating piston to stick partially down. Removing the valve and cleaning the pistons up (may have to replace them if they don't clean up decent) and replacing the R126571 boot is all it takes.
Very early tractors did not have the R126571 boot and they had trouble when they were pretty new. After they added the boot the problem doesn't develop until after the boot starts to crack. There is a DTAC solution for this problem on the early tractors. | |
