north central Ohio
I have been watching the notill farmer conference this winter and spring when I get time and there is a lot of ideas on there about this regenerative and organic farming. It’s interesting to listen to but of all the guys that have spoken so far I don’t think any of them have a good grasp on making it work consistently and be profittable. It seems to me to make it work we need good market for some other crops to get the rotations we need to make it work consistently and be profitable. They keep talking about crop rotations with either crops I have never heard of or crops that are hard to make anything. We are really setup for corn in soybeans in the midwest. If a bunch jump and start raising hay and wheat that market can be easily flooded too but maybe corn and bean price would be that much higher to make up for less profitable crops. Sure makes you think anyways.
