MN | We don't have hogs anymore but did have 125 sow farrow to finish until 7 years ago. Ran sows in group pens of approximately 25 to 30 as we batch farrowed into 24 crates. Shelled corn and pellet feed seemed to work best as took awhile for dominate sows to eat. We fed once a day as they seemed less worked up when we were around the pens. We pen mated most of the time but did some AI. Boars had less and less libido. Do some research as there were people who fed every other day, fed with feeders so many hours a day etc. | |
