Seeking out advice for how others have transitioned to sow pen gestation. Not necessarily looking at meeting proposition 12 requirements, mainly just wanting to house sows after they are confirmed pregnant. What feeding systems do you have experience with, floor feeding, free access stalls, gestal feeder, electronic sow feeders, or stanchion pen housing. Also curious how pig of pens you guys have with each type of feeder and how you like the size.
You'd probably get more answers if you told us how many sows you were looking at and your farrowing schedule (Batch, weekly, continuous) and how many farrowing rooms and crates per room you have. |
