nw NC | Perhaps this will help you. My opinion is that yours is stage 8. Get your equipment ready. Watch it daily and be ready to go when the seed-head has fully swelled the boot (just below the flag leaf) or a day or two later when it is just beginning to show its self. Of course weather can screw up the best of plans! Good luck.
