About $.15 acre for extra surfactant. If you look at many University data a common rec is to use extra surfactant in even only glyphosate spray effectiveness studies even the products that say they dont need extra surfactant. It only stands to reason a little extra surfactant is resonable inurance. Also the higher loads of gly you get now with 5.4 being common you get less surfactant per acre with the smaller volume of gly in the mix. In the case of metolachlor I doubt there is much if any surfactant in most formulations . Could be enough to help keep formulation in suspension or solution no reason to put more than needed for that use.I dont know for sure but it seems highly likely that the major component is oil.
