| I have fought many opener bearing problems over the years in our no-till planting. I put on SPT sawtooth blades form prescription tillage tech.(PTT). last year in an effort to find a better option. We have always replaced the blades every year. Putting about 80 acres on per row. Because they won’t make it two years. I called the rep. To see what he thought about the bearings lasting another year. He assured me they have good bearings and will make it, as the disks are not worn out yet. I currently have 30 acres per row on this year. (Now 120 per row) and no failures yet. When I talked to the rep. He said they are in the final stages of developing a greasable bearing that should make it through multiple sets of blades. (Game changer?). FYI. Originally you could buy these through SI dist. But I think you have to buy from the company now as they are getting the name out there. Good luck.
