Subject: RE: Lightning strike? That Danged Ol' Electronics!

I woke up early one morning to a very heavy rainstorm. I had just put a jug of O. J. back in the fridge when lightning hit the near by. The door on the stove flew open whacking me in the shins and the smoke began rolling out from behind the stove. I ran and threw all the breakers and when I came back every light on the panel of the stove was still lite up. I started throwing water on the stove with a pan that was in the sink to keep the flames from crawling up the wall. I didn't take long to put the fire out but it sure put out a lot of smoke in the kitchen. The wires in that stove were cooked. It took out the stove, microwave, fridge, vcr and the thermostat. I guess it followed the service into the house. I'm sure glad I was awake when it happened. It could of ended up a lot worse than it was.
