They have reported those that were fully vax'd (both shots, more than 2 weeks) and showed there were "break through" cases that still got sick. That was a relatively low number. Not sure if they are fully reporting the positive cases that are only partially vax'd (ie only one shot). The theory is a person is more susceptible during that phase before 14 days after shot 2. Just a theory though.
If it’s somebody’s theory, it’s a half baked one.
There’s good evidence that first shots are in the range of 70% effective after 2 or 3 weeks, so why would one expect a period of increased susceptibility after the second shot and then suddenly, two weeks after you get it, bam!...you’re fully vaccinated and have maximum protection.
Only confounding thing I can come up with is folks get the vaccination and immediately throw caution to the wind and start taking risks. |
