Blvd d'Espair Bowhill, Sth Aust | jjoseph - 5/1/2021 14:26 I have had two people that I kind a know that were in their late 30s early 40s that had strokes. Anybody else noticing that?
Apparently a Hole-in-the-heart is a MUCH more common condition than most of us realise, and goes undiagnosed in the greater percentage of those that live with it... Small clots that would be "normally" caught within the heart can then pass through, and cause havoc in the brain as a stroke.
This is what happened to my daughter, who kept having auras associated with migraines. The aura is actually the brain cells dying. She has permanently lost some particular areas of vision ( but she isn't blind) and this is caused by loss of the relevant brain cells....nothing to do with her eyes.
Surgery can usually repair the hole-in-the-heart, and given the potential results of not doing so, seems like a no-brainer.... except in some particular situations that require specialist advice.
By the way..this was recognised by her Optician, rather than her Dr. who she was seeing for migraine and auras.
