NW Washington
The "farmed" salmon that they raise here in closed pens are always Atlantic salmon, even those raised here in Washington and in Canada on the Pacific coast. And I would guess that the same is true in Chile.
There was a big stink a while back when some salmon pens in the Puget Sound broke down and the "Atlantic" salmon escaped into Pacific waters. The farmed fish are supposed to be sterile, but there some PO'ed people, especially the Native Americans that live on the coast and salmon are a big part of their culture.
