We live just South of 30 near Clinton. I80 might be a little faster but a lot busier. 30 is 4 lane to Dewitt and then out by Cedar Rapids. It is also 4 lane closer to and beyond Ames. 30 goes pretty fast because of the lesser traffic and you go by a lot more farmsteads, you also bypass towns but can easily turn off to get to one. you have to decide what you want.
