I've straightened them out a time or two after researching specific details for each state. This time it just looked like they were right and that all farm equipment was taxed in South Dakota regardless of where the purchaser was from.
But you're correct............the lady that deals with the tax stuff is pretty arrogant. Never dreams of apologizing when proved wrong. I didn't even call on this South Dakota deal............because I'm pretty sure they're right by what I read. if you are a tax free state, and purchase off BigIron, have it trucked home and provide BI with the bill of lading. They refund the tax. I’ve done it a couple times already. Now I have my own tax permit, pretty handy to have. |
