Corn acres in the Prospective Plantings report are a bullish surprise
Producers are expected to plant 91.1 million acres of corn this year.
That's 2.1 million less than expected but 320,000 higher than last year.
By state, that's a . . .
69% INCREASE for North Dakota.
13% INCREASE for South Dakota.
4% DECREASE for Illinois.
4% DECREASE for Indiana.
3% DECREASE for Iowa.
3% DECREASE for Nebraska.
Minnesota is expected to hold steady with last year.

The Corn belt states are down in corn acres.... The increase comes from lower yield states.
