I guess in that case a small downward move in the market would hurt you a bit...........but you'd be protected if a drastic down market happens. You burned my brain cells a little there but all in all you would be protecting your old crop inventory. Sounds like the broker would appreciate you putting all of those positions on. At least they'd be making some money.
