Subject: RE: New proposed Oregon livestock law

North Central Oregon
This is a ballot initiative. All they need is about 134,000 signatures and it will be on the ballot next year. I would imagine between Portland metro, Salem, Eugene, Ashland and all the California imports to Central Oregon they will get those signatures. Then it comes down to hoping there are still enough sane Oregonians to vote it down. I can’t believe that cherished memories of Working cattle when I was a kid could bring charges against my dad, mom and grandparents of abuse of cattle, both physical (branding, ear marking and restraining) and sexual (castration) as defined by this bill, as well as child abuse and endangerment for allowing me to watch and participate. Wish I could pack up and move my farm to a sane State.
