All I can say is that I've never regretted buying a piece of land and I always felt at the time of purchase that I paid too much. I look at it as an investment for retirement and look at interest as cash rent... and you own it in the end. Your manure from hogs is a benefit for you and should make it easier to justify. I say buy it when it's for sale, don't agonize too much about timing.
