North of London | As others noted it has been 10 in Ontario for some time however I do remember when 4 worked and the 2 neighbouring exchanges that were free to call to required 5 digits.
All calls outside the 3 exchanges needed the costly 1 to begin then 7 digits.
Of course i also remember when I called the neighbour it was just 4 shorts.
Operator needed 1 short and then tell her 48 ring 6 or some similar request
There were 11 on our line and that was after they cut it in half.
Might have only been 10 on the other half of our road but it had the store. | |
