| I believe you are talking about 2013. There was a lot of prevent plant in prime corn country in northern/western Iowa that year.
I had been buying corn from a neighbor picking it up on his yard paying a nickel over the elevator in price.
Late June he made a trip to Des Moines, after seeing all of the prevent plant ground and poor looking corn he wouldn't sell anymore. He still had a bunch of corn in the bins when the combines rolled that fall. That was a very expensive trip for him....
