N FLA | There's alot of high fiving among the team here. But I'll share my observation of what's wrong. I've had 2 flex fuel f150s the last 10 years. My wife has had aflex fuel taurus for 7 years. I stopped at a race trac in Ocala, right off I-75 where I would guess a couple hundred million cars go by each year.
This is only the second station I know of in FL with E85. (Obviously there are more it I haven't seen them.) They had what they called 88 octane, which said E-85 for $2.85. they had regular 87 octane for $2.79. it was well marketed, but if it were priced about a dime below 87 a customer might be interested.
Moral of the story, my wife and I have put 700k miles on flex fuel vehicles and have never used a gallon of e85. Until E hits the east coast and these 200 million people it's just a little niche you guys in the midwest can high five each other about the best kept secret in energy. | |
