I agree to a certain extent. Just because you raise more bushels than your neighbor doesn't guarantee you are more profitable too. We don't have Iowa soils here, maybe that is the biggest difference. Building any nutrient level on our farm is tough. I'd be broke before we would change our soil test levels. That is the 1 thing about agronomy, it's extremely local. I still would not be worried about missing a year or 2 of application of P and feel like I'm missing out or will have to double or triple the rate next time. It takes just as long for the soil test to drop as it does to build it.
