North West Ukraine | There's a simple explanation to that. Trump avoided putting too much pressure on Putin. Moreover, he personally liked the personality of Putin viewed as a "strong" dictator with unlimited power. That's what Mr. Trump wanted to be alike but couldn't act in the same manner because of the fundamentals of US democracy and strong civil institutions. Now Biden's administration is set to hold Putin back within Russian border and US is to play again the primary role in NATO. As a response to that, Putin is threatening not only Ukraine but Eastern Europe in general. EU countries, especially former Soviet Republics and Eastern European countries understand that Putin will go as far as they let him go. If they admit the taking over the part of Ukraine, Russia will go further. The reality is that USA is the only country in the world able to stop the beast and avoid thousands of victims and broken lives. Just remember how important was the role of your country in WW2. So, it's not just the matter of Ukraine and Russia conflict or European stuff. That's the global issue that couldn't be ignored by US. Ukraine stands at the forefront of that global threat paying the very high price to let EU feel relatively comfortable and safe. | |
