Britton, SD
Why wheat?

Rotation
Work load/harvest window
Straw $60 acre
85 bushel at 6.25 is $530ish
Not corn ground already been beans yrs
Cover to notify into next yr

Compare

Beans
Wet/snow harvest a couple yrs
35/40 bushel at 12 is $420/480
Weed pressure/resistance(waterhemp)
Residual stubble none existent

Beans need rain late and wheat can work well if get a few timely rains here.

Was all the way across ND last Friday and Saturday haven't seen it that dry since the 80's, wow never saw one rig planting!
