Beans are very touchy.Really crazy to plant them early.Just a light frost will kill them
Whereas corn will survive an beans will be gone.
I'm not disagreeing with what you are saying, it is very valid. I will say before emergence, I think fully treated beans can do better in cold soil conditions than corn can....here when it comes to emergence and yield potential. I don't know your location, so I'm likely comparing apples and oranges. We certainly could get dinged with frost in May, but the odds don't favor that here. |
