Subject: What are the big plugs in an 1800 Oliver diesel head???

By Rochester MN
I have my 1800 diesel apart for a head gasket. The engine shop took the injectors out to clean the head. They also took the big plugs out opposite side of the head. They have a small cup inside of that, then I THINK that there is another cap like feature. Actually looks like a nipple. Just wondering what the hell these are for?? They gave me back the parts but they said it looked like i was missing one of the cups and like 2 or 3 of the nipple things. They swear that is all they took out, so must have been missing some the whole time?? So wondering where i could get more also. Thanks much!!
