SW Wisconsin | The requirement is membership in a racial or ethnic group that has experienced prejudice on the basis of membership in that group and not with regard to individual qualities. As far as I can tell that means that if I as a white farmer apply, then as soon as I or any other white farmer is denied because we're not a member of a disadvantaged group then all white farmers are eligible on the basis of that denial. Does it hurt me to give black farmers a leg up? Not really, but you can't fix racism with more racism. The policy is bad and needs to be challenged. | |
