Don't give up on getting the pipe out. If you can get a torch down there, heating the steel red hot in just one spot, then letting it cool will shrink it enough to come loose. Or cut a sawzall blade down to fit inside the pipe and slice two slots halfway through the threads1/4" apart, and peel the parts out. Or weld something inside the pipe to grip it, the weld will heat and shrink just like the torch.
