Thumb of Michigan | They all seem to have a lot of fun in Filion, don't they!
If you're trying out a new planter, and are ready to go, put in a couple rounds. Get the neighbors talking, thats got some value itself. More importantly, you'll not be out much and at least you'll have the experience to work from next time.
Heres my "big picture" lesson I learned. It was tough for me, it was really tough for my Dad at one time. As dry bean growers, we were always trying to treat soys the same way when we first started growing them. Needed warm soils, warm days and nights, and otherwise almost perfect conditions. So we were convinced.
But, soys and dry beans are 2 different animals. Just because they both have "bean" in the name doesn't mean you can't push soys a bit. Much more than you can a dry bean. | |
