northeastern Ohio
I am in northeast Ohio, which I think is pretty similar to mid Michigan. I've been farming for 30+ years and there have been a few years where conditions were fit to plant the first week of April. This is one of those few years. I have never seen anyone plant soybeans this early yet.....

They might be your best beans ever, or they might be your worst. It is all about the risk/reward. If they get frosted off, do you have a source of replant seed? What will it cost to replant? If they escape without getting frosted, will the summer heat hit them at the wrong time? Will they mature early and you are rewarded with a good price?

It is tempting to put out a test plot to see what happens.

Around here, lots of guys planting oats right now. Maybe some new hay seedings too. No beans or corn going in the ground that I know of.
