Subject: Good thread, Good points, role of the bank regulators.

All good points.

Farmers some times forget that the banks were caught up in this also.. as farm loans soured.. bank regulators tightened the screws.. at the end of the train are the farmers affected by banks forced to liquidate.. or try for their (the banks) own survival.  Many bankers joined farmers forced to make career changes.

Have we learned anything?

I believe it’s good to recall the 80’s and try to navigate those mis steps.. so that’s good.. still we are dealing with large multiples.. land values.. input costs.. etc.. much larger than we faced during the 1980s

Things like ethanol have sucked up some of the surpluses.. vs govt policy to fill warehouses with government owned surpluses.. we have shock absorbers in place.. but still these are big moves.

As China moves markets.. we will see what develops.
