I would say in the 80s the people with the worst leverage were actually made whole.
The ones taking the worst hits were those under water but likely had the ability to work themselves through it. They were the big losers in the game.
I didn’t remember Ford put a grain embargo on? I’ll have to look that up. I always remembered it was both a dem and a repub that put big embargo’s on Nixon and Carter, we were equally serviced.
