Iowa | We got a credit card for our church. It made the accounting a little more complicated for the treasurer, but it was not really a big deal. It really made things a lot easier for the pastor and secretary because a lot of things need to be ordered online with a credit card. They otherwise had to use their own credit cards, and that was not really fair to them. Getting receipts for all the credit card purchases is important because the treasurer who pays the bills needs to be able to back up everything with a paper receipt. That's second nature to a treasurer who is accustomed to that sort of thing and knows the books will be audited, but it may or may not be second nature to whoever is using the credit card. A lot of people never give a second thought to keeping track of receipts, so whoever is using the credit card really needs to know it is important and needs to give the receipts to the treasurer as soon as possible.
