I've used duct tape for over 40 years, probably 50 years.  We used some to hold a weight on a wheel in the 70's.

I've tried different brands and some worked better than others.

But some time ago I needed some duct tape and couldn't find it in the store and ran across Gorilla brand.  I'm no fan of their glue and only bought the tape because I couldn't find what I wanted.  This is black duct tape and it's the strongest, sticking stuff I've ever found.  It lasts and lasts.  I'm positive you could tape up a leaking radiator hose.

Just what I've discovered.  Maybe your results would be different, I hope they don't change to manufacturing process.
