C IL | I ignored one for a while hoping my immune system would best it back but it started spreading.
Podiatrist insisted on acid+ cantharidin (blistering agent) + trimming it out. We did that about 6 times, very painful, didn’t work, took 4 months. It was a very persistent wart. Finally he threw his hands up in exasperation and wanted to do twilight surgery and really get in there and cut it up. All along I asked to freeze it off and take the protein pill that makes your immune system attack the virus, but no joy. My foot was a painful bloody mess for months.
I paid that fool a specialist copay for each occurrence adding up to nearly $1000. I cancelled the surgery when I learned it was going to cost me $3000+.
I went to the dermatologist and they agreed with my cryotherapy + pill approach, paid $30 twice plus $6 for drugs and done. And no pain except for a few seconds while the gun is freezing off the nerve endings.
YMMV but the home treatments did not help me. Freezing plus pills worked for me and a lot quicker and less painful than acid. |
