That was a strange thing, I did notice the car is similar colour to adjacent field perhaps not ideal target but you would expect it to stop and hover if it couldn't track.
Presumably it thought the car was speeding up or further ahead.
I found the first Mavic was none too reliable at tracking and would sometimes keep getting closer, later models seem to have improved markedly - in the main.
