Because electrical utilities want natural gas. If you’ve ever walked through a coal plant, then walked through a natural gas plant you’d understand why.


Had same argument about coal vs. nuculear yrs. ago . Visited/toured Fermi 2 plant and Trenton Coal fire plant in Mi. 30 yrs. ago and what I seen was the unit trains of coal, big conveyor belts running full to feed palnt and another big belt sending fly ash out. The coal plant had a fines dust everywhere.

With today's scrubbers and technology coal is much cleaner but never will match the convenience and cleanliness of a gas line feeding a power plant . A few mies from me a new ng electric plant is being constructed...

Reality is all fuel sources come with a pretty big footprint on the environment
