Also many deserts start the same way. Creme Brulee, Creme Caramel, Pots du Creme, Semifreddo, etc. Explore!
All wonderful. Indulgent but wonderful.
You can go all cream if you wish. When I make chocolate ice-cream I still add a little vanilla as it rounds out the flavor.
I would rather have a little bit of something really good than a lot of something ok.
