Their trying to mark to market tax assets before they are sold.
Think about that you have an asset that's appreciating in value AOC thinks its a good idea to tax it before its even sold.
Doubt you'll get a refund if it declines in value.
Between this, capital gains , higher rates and the estate tax they're coming for it all.
