Get direct wire LED bulbs, bypass or remove the ballasts. Then all you have to remember is if they're single end or double end powered when they fail down the road. If you put new fixtures in, standard A19 bulbs are the easiest and cheapest to find, but get fixtures with plenty of sockets (at least 3) because the lower wattage bulbs are still cheaper Lumens/$, and then you can bump up the wattage as your eyes dim with age.
