Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot | I'm assuming the increase along the Platte River is from surface water use? What about the other areas like along the TX panhandle/OK border area that have increased? What's the baseline date? Interesting map.
This area never pumped any groundwater until 2001. Then, due to ESA restrictions on surface water use, there's been an increased use of groundwater. But most of the valley doesn't have a lot of groundwater supplies, so it's concentrated in certain areas. There's some 20 cfs wells in my neighborhood, and it's interesting to see the response in groundwater levels when they are pumped hard. It's also surprising how little ground you can cover, this area will never be a groundwater district. | |
