Earlville, NY | This winter I've been using a Mossberg 88 to try and keep down the pigeons and starlings around the farm; have decent luck and find it enjoyable. I'm not into hunting or shooting otherwise. The 88 has a 24" cylinder bore barrel, I've been using 2 3/4" shells with 7.5 shot, I'm wondering about opinions on any changes that may improve accuracy. Birds are getting smarter and quicker so shots are getting farther and farther. I've done a little research into either a used barrel that's threaded for chokes, barrels with internal choke, or getting a good smith to tap mine for chokes. Are 28"barrels worth the extra cost? Don't want to spend much of i can help it, the gun was only $225 in the first place, and this is all I'd ever use it for. Thanks for any advice. | |
