The only time I ever protested, and got my taxes lowered, was when I noticed that they added a building to my tax rolls, that didn't exist.
Even then, it took 2 trips to the courthouse, and a trip out to my place with the assessor.
I told the assessor, if they could find this 40X60X16 shed, anywhere on my property, I'd gladly pay the taxes. They told me, it said right on the description, it was 'in the yard, East of the House'. Even then, it took pointing to a new shed, in the neighbor's yard, to convince them, there might have been a mistake. | |
