Pittsburg, Kansas | Yes the EPA has done a lot of cleanup in Idaho on the copper leaching sites. This leach pond was fully llined with what appeared to be a heavy pond liner. There were also tubes running along the bottom. Did not get close enough to tell for sure what they were but I assumed probably bottom air diffusers to stir it somehow to speed up the process. The pond had nothing in it yet.
I imagine part of their permitting process now includes the wind down and clean up phase, but I do not know that. | |
