Quite an interesting story.

I figured that pond we saw was a leach pad. Heap leach wass used a lot up in Idaho to leach the fine gold out. Too fine to seperate with conventional sluice methods. I toured a couple underground mines up there back when I was actively learning about investing in silver. I think they use flotation seperation now mostly but they have lots of water available, unlike Arizona.
