Seems like with as high as option premiums are, buying up a boost policy or eco to 90 or 95 % would get most of your bushels covered with a put strike at, what, about 4.13 or 4.35?

+1. Not sure I’ll buy the eco option but it is a much better deal than options right now. Part of farming is taking some risk. I think we make to many decisions based on insurance even though I know it is an important tool. At this point in my career if I would have invested all my money spent on crop insurance I’d be money ahead. Not complaining but we might actually be better farmers if insurance didn’t exist. |
